Today is a day we pause to say thank you and show our appreciation to the men and women who have served our country in the military, and there's a man in Illinois who truly understands the spirit of Veterans Day.

While grabbing a cup of coffee at at a service station, an older gentleman – who insisted on remaining anonymous – spotted a group of 15 soldiers in fatigues. So the man bought his coffee, stepped aside and told the clerk he would pay for anything the soldiers wanted. And he did- to the tune of $70. The man then thanked each and every one of them and shook their hands. It turns out the man, who was wearing a Navy cap, is a veteran and just wanted to show his appreciation for the younger servicemen. He told the clerk he didn't want to give his name and doesn't want any recognition.

God bless this veteran and God bless those who serve.
