Being a parent is much more than feeding and providing your child with the basic necessities. Being a parent is like signing an eternal contract to love, support and care for someone else for the rest of your life.

The bond between parents and their kids is a special one. That bond endures age and distance and no matter how old a person gets, their parents still see him or her as a child.

Just as moms and dads have a special day with Mother's Day and Father's Day, kids also have a special day with National Son's and Daughter's Day.

August 11th is a day to remind parents across the United States to slow and enjoy their kids more - to savor every day that we have with our children.

Time passes by very fast and children grow quickly.  Let today be an extra reminder of the short time you have with your kids because before you know it, they'll be grown up and having kids of their own.
