It looks like a good weekend to be outdoors. It looks like an even better weekend to be outdoors and enjoy dirt track racing.

Well Five Mile Point has the answer with their biggest weekend racing for 2017. It's the two-day National Quarter Mile Dirt Track Championship Weekend tonight and tomorrow (10/6 and 10/7).

The Friday Modified event will serve as the final Modified race of the season. Last year 60 Modified teams showed up at the track and with the nice weather, there could be even more this weekend.

Brian Weaver took the checkered flag for his 150th Modified feature win on September 19th and will be looking for win 151 tonight. Joining the Modifieds will be the GRIT Crate Sportsman, the Xcel 600 Modifieds and a Four Cylinder Open competition event.

On Saturday, the GRIT Crate Sportsman will return along with the Fight Night All-Star Street Stocks doing battle in a 25 lap event. The winner is guaranteed a starting spot in the World 100 at the Outlaw Speedway.

Saturday will also feature a National event for the Tobias Slingshots, FWD Four Cylinders, Factory Stocks, Xcel 600 Modifieds and Empire Sport Trucks.

Racing on Friday begins at 7:00 pm and Saturday at 4 pm. Stop by Gary's U-Pull It and get $2 off grandstand admission coupons for either race. Kids 12 years old and younger will be admitted FREE both day.

Go here for any race day updates and let's get ready to get down and dirty this weekend.
