This week  is National Crime Victims Rights Week, and the Crime Victims Assistance Center (CVAC) is sponsoring local events.

A survivors tribute will be held tonight at 6pm in lower Otsiningo Park. On Friday, the Victim Rights breakfast will begin at 8am at the Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel. Yesterday, CVAC brought its memorial wall to the Oakdale Mall.

On its panels are the faces of 134 victims. There are stories attached to some, there are newspaper articles, pictures and personal tributes. They hope next year that they don't have to put up as many pictures. For more information, please call 723-3200 or visit www.cvac.us .Don't forget to 'Like' them on Facebook.

Wednesday (4/24) is National Denim Day.  To find out why, go here. To support victims of sexual assault and your local rape crisis center, charge your employees $5 to wear denim on Wednesday. It could mean a 16 year old victim of sexual assault will not have to go home in a hospital gown. It could mean someone you love would get the support they needed after an assault.

I hope you have a chance to go to Otsinigo Park tonight.  Most importantly, get your Denim on tomorrow and support the CVAC.
