Following the three-weeks-early airing of the first half of Nashville's Season 5 premiere on Thursday night (Dec. 15), CMT has released a new promotional clip that shares even more snippets of what's to come in the new season.

Readers can press play on the video above to see the new, two-minute Nashville preview -- though be forewarned that it contains scenes from the first half of the premiere episode. The trailer packs plenty of drama into its 120 seconds, too.

Right off the bat, viewers will learn that Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettieredid, in fact, survive that plane crash that was coming at the end of Season 4 -- but she's not exactly walking away unharmed. As Nashville's showrunners promised, it's clear that Barnes' life is "very different now," and that the incident affected the show's other characters.

Connie Britton‘s Rayna Jaymes and Charles Esten‘s Deacon Claybourne, meanwhile, will be working together musically, though it won't be smooth sailing. Nor will it be a carefree path for Will Lexington (Chris Carmack), even though he's out and dating someone.

This newest Nashville trailer also offers a look at a couple of the drama's new castmembers: Viewers will see Christian Coulson as Damien George, the director in charge of Gunnar Scott (Sam Palladio) and Scarlett O’Connor (Clare Bowen)’s first music video; they'll also see Joseph David-Jones as Clay, a charming young musician who suffers from intense mood swings ... and who might have "a thing" with Maddie Conrad (Lennon Stella).

The two-hour Season 5 premiere episode of Nashville will air on CMT on Jan. 5 at 9PM ET.
