It's New York State's Path Through History Weekend on June 18th and 19th. the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society (NVHS) will be hosting events and offering tours of their historical building in the Town of Maine.

On Saturday, the 18th the Historical Society will re-name and dedicate the museum building in the memory of Jan W. Bowers. An exhibit will chronicle the Bowers' family historical contributions to Maine going back to the 1800s.

The times are as follows on Saturday, June 18th:

1-4pm: Guided Tours of the Museum, Schoolhouse No.4 and Pitcher's Mill.

4-6pm: Museum Dedication and Renaming honoring Jan W. Bower with a ceremony and reception.

On Sunday, the 19th, the museum will host the opening of an art exhibit called "The Maine Influence - Rural Inspiration." It'll feature the works of local artists Ken Weir (oils) and Nancy Braches (pottery).

The exhibit will be from 1-4pm. You can also take the Guided tours of the Museum, Schoolhouse No. 4 and Pitcher's Mill at that time as well.
