It's the 14th annual Jim “Mudcat” Grant All–Star Golf Tournament going on today at The Links at Hiawatha Landing.  It raises money for area charities and non-profit organizations.

The tournament is named after Major League pitcher “Mudcat” Grant. He's a member of the “Black Aces." It's a group of African-American pitchers who have won 20 or more games in one season in the Major Leagues.

Al Downing will also be participating today. He's a member of the "Black Aces" as well. He pitched for the Binghamton Triplets and went on to play with the New York Yankees in the 60's.

He's also known for giving up Hank Aaron's record breaking 715th home run on April 8, 1974. Today's tournament is not just for athletes.

Charley Pride is also going to be in the tournament. Charley had 39 number one Country hits. He's probably known best for "Kiss an Angel Good Morning." That was also a top 40 hit for him as well.

Charley is one of only three African-Americans to have been inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Proceeds from today’s golf tournament will go to benefit the U.S. Military, Catholic Charities of Broome County, Boys and Girls Clubs of Binghamton, CHOW and the Broome County Urban League.
