There's no way to sugar coat this - baking is my nemesis. Few things frustrate me as much as baking does. Baking literally tops my list of least favorite things to do. So, it's pretty interesting that I've baked more cookies in the past few days than I have in my entire life.

My husband grew up in a cookie making home. I didn't. Jay remembers special times spent baking cookies with his grandma and I guess the love of baking trickled down from her to my mother-in-law because whenever she comes to visit, my mother-in-law always brings my husband homemade cookies.

When Jay first suggested that we start a family tradition of baking cookies together every Christmas, I was really against it. Remember- I loathe baking, but he gave me a pleading look and I melted. And so, we've been making cookies together every Christmas season for nearly six years.

One of the first cookies we made together was massively popular with our friends and neighbors and we were begged for the recipe. . Seriously, no less than a dozen people asked us for the recipe the last time that we handed out these cookies and I'm happy to share the recipe with you but I seriously can't take any credit for it. This recipe comes from Butter with a Side of Bread.
