I don't know a doctor today who would tell a pregnant woman that it was safe to drink during her pregnancy. As a matter of fact, most, if not all doctors will tell you that drinking is a terrible idea and it seems they're onto something.

There's a new study that says as many as one in 20 kids here in the United States might have health or behavioral problems because they were exposed to alcohol before their birth.

The numbers are extremely low, but researchers found that between 2.4 percent and 4.8 percent of kids have some kind of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.

So why is this happening? A lot of women will drink alcohol until their pregnancy is confirmed, but by them it's too late and the alcohol has already affected the development of the fetus.

Research found that even mild exposure to alcohol can cause children to have trouble completing tasks at school or have behavioral issues.
