From the day I found out I was pregnant with him, I've been talking to my son. My son and I can be on opposite sides of a crowded room and he can pick my voice out and will zone right in on me.

None of this is surprising because according to a new study, moms are more likely to talk to their babies than dads are.

While this might be the case for the majority of people, it most certainly isn't the case in my home.

I think dads need a little more credit than they're given. My husband and I spend equal amount of time talking to our son and it's not just my voice he can pick out in a crowded room. I definitely attribute that to all the times my husband talked to the baby in my belly while I was sleeping and all the hours he spends with our son while I'm at work.

Really, it doesn't matter who's doing the talking, as long as someone is.  "Early conversations start in infancy and infants appear primed to communicate shortly after birth," said Betty Vohr. "Both mothers and fathers can play an important role in their infant's developmental progress."
