The subject of mental health and mental health Issues. It's not easy to talk about and sometimes it's even harder to detect but with the celebrity suicides of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, the mental health issue has been brought back to the forefront.

I think the kids are having the toughest time with this issue. If you're looking for a way that you can help in this area, then you'll want to attend the annual meeting with the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier (MHAST).

It's taking place on Wednesday, June 27th beginning at 12 Noon at Atrio, 411 Hooper Road in Endwell. Everyone is invited to attend the catered lunch meeting at a cost of only $20.

Keynote Speakers Glen Liebman and John Richter from the Mental Health Association of New York State (MHANYS) will be discussing Mental Health Education in Our Schools.

Special members of the community will be recognized as Friends of MHAST (Sally Elliott, Mike Marinaccio, Jody Pangburn and Susan Wheeler) and outgoing member of thier Board of Directors, Alison Senft, will be honored.
