The "Fastest Week of Summer" got off to a slow start when rain delayed the start of  the Levene Gouldin & Thompson (LGT) Tennis Challenger in Binghamton. They'll begin today (7/23) at Recreation Park and the weather looks great so they should be able to finish on time on Sunday, July 28th.

The LGT Tennis Challenger is a USTA Pro Circuit event and is just a few weeks before the US Open. This has proven to be a great stage for professionals from all over the world as they tune up for the US Open.

It's also part of the ATP Challenger Tour with world class pros and top men's U.S. Junior and College tennis at it's best. It features on court action and off court fun.

Here's the line-up of events:

Tuesday (7/23): Round 1 begins at 10 a.m. with a Junior Team Tennis special event at 1 p.m. at the Binghamton Tennis Center.

Wednesday (7/24): It's Round 2 at 10 a.m. on USTA Member Appreciation Day with free admission for USTA members. There will be a Dog Adopt-A-Thon from 4 to 7 p.m. sponsored by the BC Humane Society and a Fast Serve Contest beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Thursday (7/25): Round 2 continues on Kids Day at 10 a.m.It's a Dick's Youth Tennis Clinic special event from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. It's kids tennis lessons & play, face painting, animal education and more. It's open to the public and free of charge in the upper Parking lot. There's a Pickleball Demonstration at 4:30 p.m.

Friday (7/26): The Quarter Finals begin at 11 a.m.The Dick's Sporting Goods Tennis Challenge special event at 2:30 p.m and a Net Generation Demo at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday (7/27): Semi-finals start at 11 a.m. with a Wilson/USTA Youth Tennis Clinic between matches with crowd participation with prizes and fun.

Sunday (7/28): Finals begin at 11 a.m with a Happy Tomato VIP Brunch from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
