Being a non-profit and hoping to raise as much money as possible, can be a challenge.  For Happy Tails No-Kill Animal Shelter, they thought a massive rummage sale may do the trick.  Happy Tails hopes to raise much-needed funds for their many programs, to help and home abandoned, feral, stray and otherwise homeless animals from the Owego, New York and Towanda, Pennsylvania areas.  I have seen the work that they have done first hand, and the difference they make in the lives of these animals is truly amazing.

Thanks to some great supporters and volunteers and a dedicated board of directors, Happy Tails has gathered several years-worth of accumulated donations from animal-loving friends and neighbors and they are finally having the massive rummage sale from collections dating back to 2010.

In fact, organizer Ken Willet tells me that there's "so much of it, that only a fraction of it has a price tag on it and some of those items will go for a quarter."  Due to so much inventory, the three-day rummage sale will be restocked every night, and that means, everyday there will be something new.

Pass the word.  The Happy Tails Animal Rescue Rummage Sale is located at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 117 Main Street in Owego, Thursday (October 20) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday (October 21) and Saturday (October 22) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Your treasure hunting and bargain shopping may help save an animal in need of a home and help keep Happy Tails No-Kill Animal Shelter continue important work that never ends.
