Man Swaps High Priced Apartment for a Van on the Beach

I’d be lying if I said I weren't a tiny bit jealous of 20-something Sam Jacquette, who lives in Santa Barbara, California. Sam made a New Year's resolution to stop doing everything he didn't enjoy doing and start doing everything he wanted to do.

Sam quit his job, gave up his high-priced apartment, sold a bunch of his stuff, and started living in a Volkswagen camper van on the beach. Sounds kind of romantic in a non physical way, doesn’t it?

Sam calls his 1985 Volkswagen Westfalia camper van “a little bit Scooby Doo, a little bit '80s soccer mom, a little bit Santa Barbara beach bum” – but it’s really just a tiny beachfront condo. Sam says living in his van on the beach “forces you to get out and explore each day as it is” and continues:“This is just a spot to lay my head down at night. Simple as that."

Oh to be a 20-something again. If I could go back in time, I'd definitely have done something like Sam has done. I've learned that life is way too short to lived chained down to things that don't make us happy.  Would you give it up and live on the beach if you could?
