Man Skips Work for 25 Years and Doesn’t Get Fired

I think we’ve all have moments when we’ve wished that we could take a little time off work. But can you imagine taking 25 years off of work and not getting fired? As bizarre as it sounds, this was reality for one man.

Shri A.K.Verma has worked for India’s Central Public Works Department for the last 35 years, but hasn’t made an appearance at work in 25 of those years!

According to UNILAD, he took some allowed time off in 1990, but never went back. Verma ignored directions from his employer to return to work and was not officially fired until recently. The company had attempted to inquire about the status of the man in 1992, 2005, and 2007, but none of the attempts were successful until now.

Whoever said, “you can’t have your cake and eat it, too,” definitely never heard of Shri A.K.Verma!
