An 8-year-old boy was invited on stage during Luke Bryan’s concert in South Dakota over the weekend, and he made the most of his time in the spotlight. Well, that’s an understatement.

The kid has Bryan cracking up in a matter of seconds, and the more famous (as of now) singer just loses it when the boy breaks down Florida Georgia Line’s rap during “This Is How We Roll.” Bryan trades caps with him, gives him the microphone and sits down to let him finish the song. It's over for the superstar, he realizes — this kid has stolen the show.

“I’ve been doing this about 10 years … and that’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in my life,” Bryan tells the crowd afterward (watch the full video here).

The third grader's name is Riley Svanda, and he’s from nearby Tea, S.D. KSFY-TV in Sioux Falls caught up with him after the show, and along with his parents, he relived the moment. “We made this big like neon poster and it said, ‘Can I sing with you?’” Riley tells the TV station.

It worked! For two songs the two traded lines as duet partners. Following the concert, Bryan brought the whole family backstage for pictures, autographs and an official hat exchange. Don’t expect the kid to settle for just six minutes of fame, however.

“When I make it big, I’m going to thank Luke Bryan for my carer,” Riley says.
