The 2017 racing season may be over at Five Mile Point Speedway but they are racing ahead and are looking forward to 2018. They have some exciting news to pass along, it's the return of the Xcell 600 Modifieds on a weekly basis.

The division was a weekly class at Five Mile in 2014 and you can find out more about them here. They hope to open with a late March racing event. That is the true March Madness.

Speaking of March, save this date, Saturday, March 3rd. It's their annual Award Dinner. The dinner will take place at the Claude Garrison Memorial, American Legion in Binghamton and will honor the champions from this past season.

The 2017 Track Champions are:

Kevin Bates (weekly Modifieds), Nick Rochinski (Summer Slam Modifieds), Kyle Rohner (Crate Sportsman), Doug Polhamus (Street Stock), Eric Beach (Factory Stock), Dalton Maynard (Slingshot), Nick Kennedy (Lightning Cat Expert), Brian Salmini (Lightning Cat Novice), Ken Underwood (Fantastic Five Four Cylinders).

2017 saw a resurgence with car counts up in all the divisions and 2018 should continue that momentum.

Go here for any updates or to get your questions answered and they'll see you at the track next year.
