Soon, Price Chopper will have a new name. The company announced Tuesday that they'll be changing their name to Market 32.
The name change reflects the origins of the supermarket chain, which was founded by Ben and Bill Golub in 1932, and will begin rolling out to all of the chain's stores in Spring of 2015.
Along with the new name will come a $300 million investment in modernizing and re-branding the stores with a focus on health and wellness. According to the company, the process will take about 5 years, but the first "ground up" Market 32, destined for Sutton, Massachusetts will get underway today.
If you're curious what the new Market 32 will look like once it finds it's way to the Greater Binghamton area, you can do that here.
