In the words of one of our favorites here at The Hawk, Mr. Brad Paisley, “If there’s anyone who still has pride in the memory of those that died defending the old red, white and blue, this is country music and we do.”

This Sunday, July 13th the American Legion Riders Post 357 in Hallstead, PA will be hosting their one and only fundraiser of the year, the 7th Annual Fallen Soldiers Memorial Ride, proceeds benefiting scholarships and other community projects such as local food banks.

In September of 2005, the local armory from New Milford, PA lost their first soldiers to the war after the death of six soldiers in Ramadi, Iraq.

As fellow Americans, we are forever in-debt to the bravery of these soldiers, and in honor of a story all too familiar in the times we live in, your participation and attendance in encouraged and greatly appreciated. Registration is from 10:30am to noon, with requested donation of $20.00 and a meal included in your registration.

For more information, feel free to contact Bill Evans by phone at (607)759-6398.

Preserving the memories of the fallen means more than singing along to your favorite country song – we know our listeners have the heart to put country lyrics into action and do those who have served proud. See you this weekend!
