Authorities say 20-year-old Idrees Walden of Park Street and 25-year-old Quincy Velez of Floral Avenue were arrested following a traffic stop.

Investigators say a vehicle being driven by Walden was stopped on the West Side by a Community Response Team unit shortly before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say they discovered a loaded .22 caliber Colt handgun and a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle.

Walden and Velez both were charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. They also were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Walden also was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

Police did not say why the vehicle was pulled over or exactly where it was stopped.
