Not all of our shows originate from our plush Downtown Binghamton studios.  Take Sunday night's Country Countdown USA for example.  This week's show features Lee Brice being interviewed in Maui, counting down the Top 30 in country music.

Lee was in Maui on his way to play a festival in Australia. "They invited us back two years in a row, and this year, we're headlining. It's a long trip over there, and I'm doing one show, staying a day, and coming back. That's why we're stopping here on the way over."

Joining Lee in Maui was his longtime buddy Jerrod Niemann, and Jerrod actually makes a surprise appearance on this week's show! "Paradise with your buddies, you can't ask for a better day. But Tyler Farr got sick, so Lee asked me to take his place. My wife & I are here, and it's awesome." Lee & Jerrod performed a new song together, and it might actually be released this summer.

Lee also revealed that he's working on some music for the National Hockey League. "The NHL just called and they want me to write the theme song for their sport. It came literally from doing the All Star Game in January. I may have to write it over Facetime, but I may be the face of the NHL. I'm not a hockey player, but I'll get out there and hit 'em."

One recent career highlight for Lee was playing a benefit concert in Nashville with his hero: Garth Brooks. "That was very recent in my heart and in my mind. The worst part was I'm in the middle, and two feet from me on a stool is Garth Brooks, my hero. Garth went first, so that meant I followed Garth all night."

Lee also has great stories this week about Cole Swindell, Randy Houser, Maddie & Tae, and Chris Young.
