According to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, LeAnn Rimes will sing the national anthem before the 98th running of the Indianapolis 500.

In a statement, LeAnn said: 'To sing the national anthem at one of the most prestigious racing events is truly an honor. The adrenaline at the Speedway is felt around the world and I know I am one of millions who is so excited to hear those six legendary words 'ladies and gentlemen, start your engines.'

The Indy 500 isn’t a stranger to country stars. Party country performers include Martina McBride in 2012, Kelly Clarkson in 2011 and Jewel in in 2009.

Emotions are expected to be high this year as 83-year-old singer and actor Jim Nabors will sing "Back Home Again in Indiana," a pre-race tradition, for the last time.
