Wow, does time fly by or what? It's hard to believe that six weeks from today, we'll be unwrapping our Christmas presents.....for most people.

I'm fortunate and I know that my kids will be getting something under the tree. In fact, every year I comment to them (jokingly), that I don't remember them being that good for the past year.

Not every family and kids are as lucky. That's why groups like Project Concern are here. This Monday through Wednesday and Friday (11/13-11/15, 11/17) from 2-4 pm is their annual Christmas Toy Giveaway.

It's for infant to teen and all incomes are welcome. They ask that you don't bring the kids with you when you shop so that the surprise is not ruined for them.

Just a reminder, DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED. ID is needed for the adult and a birth certificate or court custody document for each child they are shopping for. They also accept SS card, insurance card and benefit card for the children.

Project Concern is a year-round facility and provides clothing, household goods, and basic necessities They serve Broome, Chenango County, and Tioga County and it's eligible for anyone in need.

Project Concern is non-profit and is run by volunteers including my wife, Dawn and is located at 23 Kattelville Road in Chenango Bridge. A big THANK YOU to all that have donated because they can't do it without you. They rely entirely on donations.

This is the final week for their giveaway and there is a $2 donation at the front door, that's to help keep the lights on.
