Sad news, Larry Hagman star of  "I Dream of Jeannie" and "Dallas"  has passed away at the age of 81.  He passed away Friday afternoon from complications from a recent battle with cancer.

He was back in Dallas re-enacting the role he loved the most as J.R Ewing.  The show that he starred in from 1978 til 1991. He had reprised the role earlier this year in the latest re-boot of the show.  Ironically enough, it was was 32 years ago this week that over 40 million viewers tuned in to see who shot JR after a 5 month wait.  That episode was the 2nd most watched episode at the time only behind the MASH finale.

Linda Gray, the actors co-star in Dallas, issued a statement through her publicist to Fox News: "Larry Hagman was my best friend for 35 years.  He was the pied piper of life and brought joy to everyone he knew. He was creative, generous, funny, loving and talented.  I will miss him enormously. He was an original and lived life to the full. The world was a brighter place because of him."

He will be missed, I thought he was wonderful in the role of JR and enjoyed that latest Dallas re-incarnation and was looking forward to the next season. Finally I'll leave you with what he said about JR Ewing.  Hagman said that JR's tombstone should say "Here lies upright citizen J.R. Ewing. This is the only deal he ever lost."
