‘Kure For Kalen’ Benefit Saturday At The Martini Room
Friends and family are getting together to help Kalen Kulas, who is struggling with Spinal Muscular Atrophy or SMA. It's a disorder that leads to loss of muscle function. Kalen is 2 years old and his parents started to notice that something was wrong when he began to lose his ability to walk or stand. The disease is a fatal disease with no known cure at this time. Kalen's mother, Sierra, believes however that research is close to finding a cure.
A benefit for the Kulas family is Saturday at the Martini Room in Kirkwood from 3 til 7. The money will help pay for a toddler wheelchair and ramp for their home which isn't covered by insurance. You can find out more about the event and SMA by facebook at Kure for Kalen. I can't imagine having something like that happen to my child. The helpless feeling of not being able to help, but we hope that you can help Kalen this Saturday.
