Hundreds of koalas have been injured in the recent wildfires in Australia, most of them burning their paws as they tried to escape the burning trees.

To help them, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) is asking people to make mittens for the injured koalas. According to vets, it could take up to a year for their little paws to heal, so the mittens will help with protecting their paws and keeping the burn cream and bandages in place.
