It's week two of three for the Binghamton Pond Festival. This weekend (1/19 - 21st) is Youth Hockey weekend. It begins on Friday and it's a chance for the kids to try hockey for free.

If your child has wanted to try this sport but didn't know where to go or what to do. Here's your answer. The Southern Tier Hockey Association (STHA) and the Binghamton Blizzard girls organization have gotten together to provide this unique opportunity.

They will have a full trailer of equipment, so all the kids need to bring is a good attitude. Want to participate? Go here to fill out a registration form. This is ONLY so they know who is coming and they have an idea how many kids will show up. You WON'T get any spam emails or solicitations.

Once you get there, a parent or guardian will need to sign a form for your child to participate but that's all they need from you. Volunteer coaches will be there to help show the kids the equipment.

This event is for kids to try hockey and is not meant to be a competitive game and goes from 5 - 7 pm. The Binghamton Pond Festival takes place at the Chenango Valley State Park in Chenango Forks.

All of the events for this and next weekend are open to the public and benefits the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier and Do It For Daron (DIFD).
