My husband was trolling Facebook when he suddenly stopped scrolling and yelled out ‘Touch a Truck!” and scooped our little guy and danced around the living room with him.  I had no idea what made Jay so excited that he had to dance with John, and asked him to elaborate.

Jay excitedly explained that Touch a Truck is an event that allows kids to see, touch and explore the same big trucks and vehicles they completely freak out over when they see them on the road.

Jot this down in your planner because Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tioga County is bringing Touch a Truck to Owego on Saturday, May 7th from 9am-1pm. This event will be held in the Tioga County Health and Human Services Building parking lot at 1062 Route 38 in Owego.

Your little ones will be able to check out construction trucks, fire trucks, tractor trailers, race cars, helicopter and many other vehicles, all of which will have someone with it to explain to your kids the role their vehicle plays in our community.

Funds raised will benefit the Family Resource Centers of Tioga County, a program of Cornell Cooperative Extension. The mission of Family Resource Centers of Tioga County is that all children be raised in nurturing and resilient families within safe and supportive communities.

Admission to Touch a Truck is $5 per person with kids under the age of two, free. Keep an eye out for me and my little family- we’ll probably be camped out by the firetruck, my son’s new obsession!
