Until Wednesday night (Aug. 7), Kenny Chesney had never left the stage to change outfits. If there was a spill, a rip or he was just uncomfortable, the 'When I See This Bar' singer always toughed it out during his 20-plus year career. However, a particularly rowdy group of fans convinced him to re-dress in Bangor, Maine.

"I may be the only person in history to ever come back dressed down," Chesney joked after the show.

A few members of his crowd kept telling him he was overdressed in jeans, t-shirt and boots. So he took three minutes and retreated to his bus while his band kept the music going.

When he returned, he had on swimming trunks, a t-shirt and a Boston Red Sox baseball cap.

He finished the show barefoot, and the crowd at the Waterfront Pavillion loved it. "That was literally, that and Fort Lauderdale, the most freewheeling shows of the tour," he said. "If they didn't have a curfew, we'd've probably start pounding covers and been up there 'til one o'clock in the morning."
