The Inside Scoop:

Katelyn currently attends Broome Community College and will attend Cortland in the fall to study to become an elementary school teacher. She's no stranger to competition - she played two years of soccer at BCC. But, this is her first foray into singing competition:

 

This is first singing competition I’ve been in. In the past, I’ve been too nervous to do things like this and I’ve finally broken out of my shell.

When Katelyn's not playing sports herself or singing, she spends her time working with the Boys and Girls Clubs and will soon be athletic director there.
