Kacey Musgraves is gaining a lot of attention with the recent release of her Mercury Records debut album, 'Merry Go Round.' In fact, she seems to be taking the country music world by storm, as she's garnered two 2013 ACM Nominations, including Female Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year.

The 24-year-old is ecstatic, and what new artist wouldn't be? “It’s pretty mind-blowing. It was a major shock when I found out about the ACM nominations. I mean, just a nomination even is the ultimate compliment from people that you work with in the business. It just makes me feel like I’m doing something right, and I’m thankful," she gushes (quote via Capital Nashville).

Musgraves, who recently opened for Little Big Town on their 2013 Tornado Tour, adds, "Even if I don’t take home the trophy, just to be in the category is just unreal. I mean, I’m next to Martina and Carrie and Taylor and Miranda -- these girls that have been doing this longer than I have in the public eye..." Although she's only been in the public eye for a short time, the rising star saw her album debut at No. 1 on Billboard's Country Chart, proving that she's definitely doing something right.

She is now looking forward to an upcoming tour with Kenny Chesney and continues to exude gratitude for the attention she's receiving, saying, "Just to be recognized is a little mind-blowing and overwhelming, but I’m really thankful.”

You can bet fans of this new artist are thankful that she's gracing the country music with her knack for songwriting and edgy new sound.
