On Sunday, the Binghamton Mets wrapped up a six game homestand. They are in Altoona until Thursday and then they'll return. We love it when our B-Mets play at home and we really, really wish they were at NYSEG Stadium tonight.

Jose Reyes who began his career with the Mets in Binghamton is returning. For those who may not have been keeping track. Jose was playing in Colorado where he made a BIG mistake.

He was arrested on October 3st and accused of assaulting his wife, Katherine. Charges were dropped but ended up serving a 52 game suspension for the domestic violence case.

He eventually was released by the Rockies and re-signed with the Mets. He played for the Brooklyn Cyclones on Sunday. He apologized before the game with his wife and kids on hand.

He hopes to make the most of his second chance. The next step begins tonight in a Binghamton Met uniform in Altoona. He's learning to play 3rd base with David Wright constantly hurt.

We don't know how long he'll be with the Double-A Mets but he could be back at home on Thursday night.

He seems to know what he did wrong. He has said that he knows he needs to be a better man, husband and dad. Here's an opportunity for him to speak out and help others as well as himself.

I hope he makes the most of this opportunity, not just on the field but off the field. After all, he could make a bigger impact there.
