It is no secret that Toys R Us is closing its doors soon. After months of liquidation sales and special, the doors to Toys R Us are due to close for good within the next few weeks, including their Johnson City location.

It was announced Wednesday that the Johnson City and Babys R Us are due to close for good Wednesday June 27th. According to WBNG, a manager claimed the store can close earlier if all merchandise is purchased. All sales will continue until close.

With the shift of consumers to Amazon and other online shopping avenues, Toys R Us and its related brands have struggled over the past few years. This resulted in lack of sales and eventual closure of stores.

The closing of the Toys R Us and related brand stores leaves a gap for toy retailers, who now may look towards stores like Target and WalMart for brick and mortar shopping options.
