It's hard to believe that Johnny Cash has been gone for more than 10-years, isn't it? Yet after all of this time, we're still completely enthralled with the man who influenced country music so greatly and thanks to his daughter, we'll be able to get a glimpse into the legend's childhood.

Johnny's youngest daughter, Tara Cash Schwoebel has announced the release of a new book, ‘Recollections by J.R. Cash: Childhood Memories of Johnny Cash.’

The book is new, but its inception occurred almost ten years ago. In 1995, Tara gave her dad a blank book entitled 'Dad, Share Your Life With Me' and asked him to fill it with his childhood memories. Johnny obliged and after a year filling out the questions, he returned it to his daughter on her birthday in 1996.

“These questions are not the typical questions that he was asked in the countless number of interviews he did in his career,” Tara told KASU. “That fact makes this such a unique and wonderful addition to the story of my father, Johnny Cash. This book tells the story of a young boy, his home life, his friends and family, his dedication to work, and where all of his hopes and dreams came alive in Dyess, Arkansas.”

The book will be released to coincide with the restoration and reopening of Johnny's boyhood home in Dyess, Ark., 'Recollections of J.R. Cash' features Johnny's own handwriting and personal photos chosen by Tara. The book will be a very unique look at the personal life and childhood of one of the most influential musicians in history.

On the book's official website, Tara revealed: "I have held this book close to my heart for all these years. With no hesitation, knowing that Dad would be proud to share these stories, I now want to share it with his fans, friends, and family to cherish, as I do. I hope you will enjoy getting to know this boy, who became my father, as much as I did. I give that boy, and that father, all the love and respect in the world."
