Jason Aldean visited the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night (Sept. 14) to perform his latest single, "A Little More Summertime." Dressed in short sleeves, jeans, boots and his signature Resistol hat, the singer and his band brought the nostalgic power ballad to the New York audience with plenty of guitar riffs and Aldean's familiar vocals.

An ode to summer, "A Little More Summertime" was written by Jerry Flowers, Tony Martin and Wendell Mobley and tells the story of a man who is missing his summer flame and wishes he could have had summer last a little longer. The video for the song was recently released and features Aldean's wife, Brittany Kerr. In it, the two are pictured in flashback scenes of them together on the beach and enjoying all that summer has to offer, interspersed with more melancholy clips of the two apart.

"A Little More Summertime" is the second single off Aldean's latest album, They Don't Know, and follows the success of previous No. 1 "Lights Come On."

“The second single ‘A Little More Summertime’ was one of the first songs we found for the record, ” Aldean says (quote via Sounds Like Nashville). “To me, I don’t know, there was just something really cool melodically about it that was a little different than some of the things we had in the past. The thing that really grabbed me was the U2 guitar stuff going on right before the chorus. That was the vibe I gave them when we went in to cut the song. I was like, ‘If there’s a vibe we’re going after here, it’s U2. Just think about that while you’re playing it.’”
