So I am going in for Surgery to have a Hiatal Hernia fixed. I've run the gauntlet of tests including having tubes shoved down my nose and into my stomach to test my swallowing and have had cameras in my belly to get epic still shots of my hernia. A hiatal hernia is when your stomach slides up through the hole in your diaphragm up into your chest cavity. It causes all kinds of just awesome problems like increased heart rate, light headedness, increased blood pressure, difficulty breathing... it's interesting to say the least.

So I am going to go get it fixed. Now after they yank my stomach back down and park it for good I have to eat a "Pureed Diet" for 4 to 6 weeks. We aren't stuffing a cheese burger in a blender here either. The doctor says I'll lose 15 to 20 pounds in the process of this diet. Ok... That's cool I guess. But imagine if I stayed on it for more than a month and a half?  Should THIS be the way we put ourselves on the right track along with exercise?

If I lose 15 pounds not doing anything except changing to this baby foodish diet, what would happen if I could run a couple of minutes a day along with it?

I can't, no strenuous exercise. How about later on?? Here's the diet I was given, what do you think? Want to give it a shot with me?
