I have talked about this with many friends, because I feel like I missed my boat. Everyone I meet has gotten married in their 20's. If I had a kid tomorrow, I would be 55-years-old by the time they were ready for college.

Most of my friends say there's no right time to tie the knot, and that you should do it when you find the person you love, and you're both ready. Turns out, we are completely wrong. There is a right age to get married, and I am 6 years past it already!

A new study out of the University of Utah found that people who get married when they're 31 have the lowest risk of divorce. The odds of getting divorced are the highest if you get married in your early 20's. Then they go down about 11% every year after that, and bottom out at age 31.

But from age 32 on, your odds of getting divorced continue to climb about 5% every year.

Researchers say it's a new trend that just started over the past two decades and they aren't sure why it happens. Their best guess is that people who wait to get married might just not be marriage material, but they do it because they think they're supposed to, then it goes badly.

I guess there is hope for me yet! The only reason I would get married is...wait for it...love. If I'm spending the rest of my life with a girl, I need to feel the love hard, and so does she! I would never do it because 'I'm supposed to'. I mean come on, I don't really do anything I'm supposed to.
