I don't know if the rain will cooperate on Saturday, but they're going to try it anyway. You are being encouraged by the officials from New York get out and participate in the 5th annual "I Love My Park Day." My question is: Are the officials going to participate in it as well?

The idea behind the event is to get you to visit parks across the Empire State to help plant trees & gardens, pick up trash and any other improvements that might be needed at that park.

Over 100 parks and historic sites are participating in this event including Chenango Valley State Park. Also this year, public lands in the Adirondacks, Catskills and other National Park service sites are being added. I love going to the Adirondacks, our family goes around once a year.

The reason that they're adding this is in honor of the State Department of Environmental Conservation's Centennial. So if the rain holds off or you don't mind getting a little wet, you can love your park and love New York this weekend.
