New York State Electric and Gas crews have been busy working to restore power to customers in the Binghamton area.

The utility reported about 350 customers in Broome County and 306 customers in Tioga County were without electric service Wednesday morning.

The biggest trouble spot in Broome County was in the town of Sanford with 265 NYSEG customers in Deposit without power.

The most significant outage in Tioga County were reported in the village and town of Owego,

NYSEG reported some electric service trouble in Chenango, Cortland, Delaware and Tompkins counties.

The utility has not indicated what has been causing the scattered outages across its service area in upstate New York. Some of NYSEG's power problems on Tuesday were attributed to thunderstorms that brought down electric lines.

NYSEG says customers may report electricity emergencies by calling 800.572.1131.
