It's October and that means it time for that annual Fall tradition of heading to the Binghamton Zoo. The best part is, you choose how much you want to be scared!

This and next weekend, it's the not-so-scary event known as Howloween at the Zoo. It's fun games and activities without the fright of ghouls and goblins. The kids can pumpkin bowl, participate in the pirate ring toss and other activities that get you coins for prizes and treats without the tricks.

It goes from 10 am to 3 pm both Saturday and Sunday the 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th. You can wear your favorite costume and enter the costume contest. I think I'll wear my Tigger costume but don't worry, I won't enter the contest because it's a sure winner and I want to give you a chance to win. HA HA HA HA.

This Saturday the 7th from 11:30 am to 1 pm, Rowdy from the Binghamton Rumble Ponies will make an appearance.

Next Saturday, October 14th is Local Heroes Day with the Binghamton Police Department, Binghamton Fire Department, Superior Ambulance, Vestal Army Recruiting
and appearances from The 501st Legion's Garrison Excelsior Star Wars characters.

Sunday, October 15th Rowdy will be back from 12 pm - 1:30 pm.

While you're at Howloween, don't forget to ride the Binghamton Zoo Express from 11 am - 3 pm. The Binghamton Zoo is located at 60 Morgan Road in Binghamton,
