When it comes to keeping the cold and flu away, it can be a tricky thing.  Last year I went the entire fall and winter without developing cold and flu symptoms and here's how I did it.

First, don't touch your nose, ears or eyes...pretty much everything from the neck up should be off limits unless you wash your hands with warm water and soap first.  I made sure I got plenty of rest and drank a lot of water.  Hot tea is recommended and if you can do soup, that can be a plus.  Wash your hands as much as possible throughout the day, especially after touching door handles and shared computer keyboards.   Using disinfecting wipes is also a good idea in shared office space or around any sick people.

To keep yourself out of the medicine isle, I recommend you keep some natural products on hand and take at the first sign of any aches, dragging or if you're around people that have a cold.

I try to do saline drops twice a day, every day.  At the first sign of my resistance being down or if I start sneezing a lot, I take a high zinc product.  There are a bunch of them like Airborne but I swear by Sambucol because it's elderberry based and really works quickly.  For flu-like symptoms, keep a product called Oscillococcinum on hand.  Both products can be found in your local drug or health food store.  The Neti Pot works wonders if you have mucus as it's the natural way to fight nasal issues and keep an upper respiratory infection away.

I'm not saying that this will work for everyone but it did keep my colds and flu symptoms away last year.  And when it comes to keeping myself healthy, I like to do it the natural way.

Keep healthy and thanks for reading!
