To add to what Emily was saying earlier, sometimes we barrel through our days not paying attention to ourselves and what we need. Like for example, I normally forget to drink water.

Why water when coffee is so dang tasty? How about your sleep? Are you getting enough? Here's how to tell, then go see what Emily says is the required amount of snoring for your age group!

1.  You're moody.  You're gonna have a really hard time dealing with stress when you can't focus on anything because you are tired, then later when you try to sleep you won't because anxiety makes it harder to drool on you pillow.

2.  You are messing stuff up at work. Did you know study at Harvard found that tired workers cost the economy about $63 billion a year?

3.  You've gained weight. This happens as you age and when you don't sleep enough. Why? You produce less leptin, which is a hormone that suppresses your appetite.  And you're more likely to be overweight if you get less than six hours of sleep a night.

4.  You're making bad decisions. Your frontal cortex is the part of the brain that helps with decision-making.  And it doesn't work as well when you're tired.  People also tend to cut more corners and be dishonest when it's not working right.  And you're more likely to struggle in social situations.
