There is an important fundraiser happening Saturday that involves a 125 mile motorcycle ride, horses, and veterans and it covers 4 counties. The Verde View Equestrian Center Horsepower For Heroes and Red Knights Chapter 40 presents "Lifting Up" Everyday Heroes and a huge motorcycle charity ride that kicks off in Greene.

Verde View Equestrian Center (VVEC) is a non-profit organization accredited by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International.

The event begins Saturday morning at 8am from Verde View located at 380A Palmiter Road in Greene, with kickstands up at 10am for a motorcycle charity ride that will take riders through Broome, Delaware and Otsego counties.  The ride will end at the Port Crane Fire Department, Rt. 369 across from Chenango Valley State Park.

The hope is to raise a lot of money so lifts can be purchased to help these everyday heroes, local veterans that have served our country.  These lifts provide hope to vets that enjoy horseback riding as part of their therapy.  Therapeutic riding benefits so many local vets.

The best way to help out is to join the party Saturday 1-5pm at the Port Crane Fire Dept.  There will be plenty of live music including Voodoo Highway, Dusty Wayne & Mr. Pete, and more.  Bring your appetite because Marilu's Catering will have plenty of fresh food with an extensive barbecue dinner.  The cost of the ride is $20 in advance, $25 day of the ride or $15 for the barbecue only.
