niversary of Abraham Lincoln's Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation.  It's today from noon til 8 and Friday 12 til 5pm.  On display is the only surviving version of the document in Lincoln's handwriting and includes historical background and interpretation of the document.  The Exhibit also includes the manuscript of a speech written and delivered in NYC in September 1962 by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr for the Proclamation's centennial.

It's a great chance to see a very important part of our history, The Civil War.  This event is free and something to share with your kids.....or for yourself.  To find out more about "Special Exhibition: First Step to Freedom" and other events go to www.roberson.org.
