There are no words to describe the impact heroin addiction has on both individuals and families. Simply put- heroin addiction destroys and ruins lives.

Whether you’ve lost a loved one to heroin, are battling addiction yourself or are scared that someone you love might be using, there are people who want to help and will do so without judgment.

County Legislator Jason Shaw and Jason Van Fossen, Superintendent of Maine-Edwell Schools invite the public to join them this Wednesday, February 24th for a free heroin awareness event. This event will be held at the Maine-Endwell Middle School auditorium at 1119 Farm-to-Market Road from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

At this event, there will be free refreshments from 5:30pm-6pm followed by a panel discussion from 6pm-7:30pm, including questions and answers.

Panelists will include Captain Garey of the New York State Police, Sergeant Sam David, Broome County Sheriff, Carmela Pirich of ACBC, parent Penny Stringfield and Caitlyn G. who is in recovery.
