Here’s Four Things That Can Kill You On Thanksgiving
If you're not already stressed about the holidays, here are four things that could KILL YOU this weekend.
1. Drinking too much while you watch football. Digesting a huge meal puts more strain on your heart, and so does drinking. Plus, men are 15% more likely to have a heart attack while they're cheering for a losing football team. And for women, it's 27%.
2. Deep-frying a turkey. On average, fires caused by deep-frying turkeys destroy 900 homes every year, and kill five people.
3. Being anywhere CLOSE to a road. According to the National Safety Council, 45,000 people will be injured in car accidents this weekend, more than 400 people will die and over 40% of those accidents will involve alcohol.
4. Letting your leftovers sit out for more than two hours. Turkey causes more cases of food poisoning each year than any other meat, besides chicken. You also need to make sure it reaches at least 165 degrees when you cook it.
And here's one thing that can kill your PETS. Don't give them turkey bones, because they can splinter and be a choking hazard. Dogs also shouldn't eat anything with onions, leaks, garlic, raisins, or chocolate.
