Did you know that 1 in 100 babies are born each year with congenital heart defects?  It’s sad but very true and the babies who are fortunate enough to survive must undergo various and difficult procedures, including open heart surgeries, blood transfusions, and even transplants.

Cindy and Donny Rieber are a Binghamton couple who’s daughter, Paula Kathryne, was born with a Congenital Heart Condition that required life saving open heart surgery when she was just 3 months old and now they’re asking for your help in raising awareness for innocent children like their daughter who have the opportunity to lead "normal" lives if given the proper medical treatment and support.

The 2nd Annual Mended Hearts of Binghamton Basket Raffle will be held at the Boome County Veterans Memorial Arena Friday March 8th from 6-9pm as the Senators take on the Connecticut Whales and again on Saturday March 9th from 6-8pm as the Senators take on the Rochester Americans.  Doors to the arena open at 6pm. Proceeds from the raffle will go to raise awareness of CHD and help mend little broken hearts here in Binghamton.

If you’re not able to attend the basket raffle, but still want to help, check out this link to find out how to give a little back to Mended Little Hearts of Binghamton every time you shop at participating businesses.
