5 Mile Point Speedway (FMP) has a lot of action tonight. They'll honor the founders of the track, Anna and Irving Heath with the 52nd running of the Heath Memorial. It's a special 40 lap event for the Modifieds..

It's a chance for the locals to go up against the outsiders and take home $2,500 to the winner of the checker flag.  Mike Colsten will be one of the favorites after winning 3 previous Heath Memorial races. He's won in 1990, 1994 and 2014.

This year, there have 9 different Modified feature winners in the 10 races. Congrats to Danny Johnson as the only repeat winner so far. Racing begins at 6 p.m.

Besides the Heath Memorial, FMP will also have the Annual Former Racer's Reunion. Drivers from all over the country will come home to share racing stories and be recognized for their accomplishments as well.

The Midstate Antique Stock Car Club will also have cars at the track before racing begins. They will put on a racing exhibition as well. All of the former drivers for the “Racer’s Reunion” will be introduced during a break in the racing action.

The Excel 600 Modified Tour is back and it's race number 2 of the 4 race Summer Slam Series. As always, kids 12 and younger are admitted into the grandstand free.
