Heartbreak Classic Powerlifting Competition at Ironworks Gym on Sunday

Well, as we know this Sunday is the Daytona 500.  Fox 40 has the race beginning at 1pm.  Maybe you're are looking for some heart pumping excitement before the race begins. I have just the answer.

It's the 2nd Annual Heartbreak Classic powerlifting competition at Ironworks Gym, 126 East Service Road in Binghamton.  Events include bench press and deadlift.  The competition starts at 9:30 am with weigh-ins  from 7:30-9:00 and a rules meeting at 9:15. Bench press only: $20, deadlift only: $20, push-pull (Ironman): $35. This event is being run in conjunction with a 100% RAW Sanction I event.

Non-sanctioned lifters will be judged following 100% RAW standards, with the exception of the requirements of a singlet and a current 100% RAW membership card. Rules can be found here.

You don't have to be a muscle head (or muscle arm) to participate.  Case in point:  Our very own John Davison is participating. I think I hear him grunting now....at least I think it's a grunt...maybe he pulled something.

My wife Dawn is also going to give it the old college try as well.  I thought it would be neat if they tried to lift each other but no luck.

I'll be there too, except I'm taking the easy way out.  I'll be doing what I do best....spectating.  If you want to participate like me and watch, it's open to the public and its free.
