Whether you're aware of it or not, we all know someone who has been sexually abused.  April is Sexual Abuse Awareness month and Healing House will be hosting a community sexual abuse awareness event.

Healing House of Binghamton will be hosting their first annual Sexual Abuse Community Awareness event from 11am-2pm on Sunday April 6th at the Holiday Inn Ballroom in Binghamton.  This even will be a family friendly one, meant to be educational, bring awareness to the community on how to prevent sexual abuse, and what to do if you or a loved one is in need of healing from trauma caused by sexual abuse.

At the Sexual Abuse Community Awareness event you'll have the chance to meet with local support agencies who will give you resources and information on sexual abuse. There will also be many local vendors, a kids area with crafts, face painting and tattoos as well as story time. For adults, there will be Zumba and Yoga. Massage and eating well education and demonstrations, a bake sale table and a basket raffle table all in support of Healing House and their mission to help survivors of sexual abuse.

The Healing House is a peer-run community organization helping adult victims of sexual crimes. They facilitate peer-run support groups to encourage growth and healing as well as work with area professionals to create compassionate referral systems.
